The Mariners are the chic pick to win the division because of the acquisition of Nelson Cruz, but he is only a lifetime .234 hitter at Safeco Field. I had no fear when he came up to bat in that bases loaded situation.

This was the first opening series win in the Pujols era

Edit: first time since 2008 that the halos have won a opening series. In 08 they opened against Minnesota and won the series 3-1
