Building a bridge between Laughlin and Bullhead City, places that you can literally see from one another across the Colorado River, is hardly a scandal either. Reid owned property in BC, but it made economic sense for the two places to be linked to ease travel between the two, increasing business in both cities.

Most of those are far from scandals, and are downright laughable. Petraeus? Negro dialect? Romney paid no taxes? Not sure how the bridge item would be classified as a scandal either...or the Coyote Springs. Sounds a bit like Glen Beck's chalkboard. But, who knows...maybe there is something there. The Abramoff thing, don't like, at all...Abramoff was scum and people who associated with him should be ashamed of themselves. Criminal...don't know.

So, all in all...not sure how that list qualifies him as much different from the rest of Congress and makes him the worst of the worst and corrupt as hell. The website linked seems to be thinly sourced...I honest would think there is more out there if Reid is as corrupt as being insinuated.

Why does it not surprise me that almost all of these come from right wing news sources?

I'm sure that Reid has done some questionable things, which puts him in the company of 99 of his contemporaries in the Senate. He takes a lot of heat from the right because he has been the opposition leader.

All I know is that once he leaves office Nevada is going to lose significant clout in Washington - not a great situation for a state with a lot of land, relatively few residents and about 80 percent of the land in federal hands.

USA Today and the LA times are right wing?

Judicial Law?

I love the complete dismissal of all the corruption.  This is exactly why the country is sucking.

My oldest brother is so right-wing that he's even beginning to wonder if Fox News is conservative enough.  The other day we were having an email political discussion - once every few months we decide we can make each other change their mind, but shortly thereafter give up - and I found a source for something I was arguing on a conservative website.  It had ads on the side asking if Obama should be impeached and links for articles about democrats screwing up, the usual stuff.  He replied back to me that it was a liberal site and he didn't trust it.

If people are staunch enough in their beliefs, no matter what those beliefs are, they can find a way to dismiss whatever doesn't agree with those beliefs.

Well, as long as you got yours I guess.

As soon as Reid leaves office I'm waiting for the plethora of "screw Nevada" bills, starting with revisiting Yucca Mountain. Because of his seniority and leadership position Reid has been able to fend off several efforts to dump things on the state. We have a lot of land and only a handful of electoral votes, We probably aren't going to swing the 2016 election, so the GOP won't be worried about losing the state. They would never do this to New York or California.

The route that most of the waste would follow runs within about a mile of my house, and one accident in the wrong place...and yes, I have heard all the talk about how safe the containers are that the stuff is transported in. IMO if they were really that safe, states wouldn't want to dump it here instead of storing it on site and not taking the risk of transporting it.

i agree with you about new york, but california seems to have been abandoned by the republicans when it comes to the national election.

for the last few presidential elections, the republicans don't really seem to be trying much at all out here. their lack of presence and effort has been very noticeable. in fact, i'm not sure that president barry was out here during the 2012 campaign very much at all - certainly not as often as he's here to pick up his fundraising checks.
