she's had another surgery, this time to remove her ovaries and fallopian tubes, and once again it's a pre-emptive effort to prevent getting a deadly cancer.

 

she's had three female family members die of breast or ovarian cancer, and she wanted to get ahead of it since she had some sort of genetic predisposition for the same thing. pretty bold move on her part.

My mother got cervical cancer at age 42. She had a similar, but more invasive, major procedure. This seems like the type of preventative measure that hopefully will become more readily available to women, because it could save a lot of lives.
