This is good to hear. People on this forum grossly underestimate how valuable Hank Conger was to our team with his excellent pitch framing ability.

Please do, CI. If he can be just average at getting strike calls, he'd be a very good catcher.

And you would have greatly diminished the offense..  Fangraphs had Ianetta as a 2.9 WAR player over 373 PA, Conger came in at 0.4 WAR over 260 PAs.... Conger's ability to get 2 extra strike calls a game was indeed valuable but not enough to overtake the massive gap in offense between him and Ianetta.
