just saw a story last night on the news about Patch. He lost an eye a while back and will be the 3rd or 4th horse to run the derby with only one eye. none of the previous pirate horses won.

Raining lightely in L'ville right now, with showers likely overnight and through the day tomorrow.

I'll be keeping an eye on how much wet stuff falls, and how the track looks early, before finalizing my trifectas...but I'm standing firm with the McCraken-Classic Empire exacta...heavy on the McCraken end.

I've tried to watch replays but they are really hard to follow. It looked like McCraken either bumped or was bumped on the far turn pretty hard..too hard to tell who was who in the replays I have watched.

One of the trainers, I think it was Irish War's...said during the walk over prior to the race, that there was a huge inside bias...he was more concerned about that than the condition of his horse. The TV analysts mentioned his complaint, and said they hadn't seen it..

It proved valid.
