Thunder Snow? Ran fast in Dubai. Talk is he's coming.

Godolphin wants a Kentucky Derby.  Could make things very interesting.

On TVG today, they weren't sure.  I guess a big race is running in Europe on the same day.  2000 Guineas I think.

2017 Kentucky Derby: Final Points Roundup

So from this article, sounds like no Japanese horse.  Also, Conquest Mo Money and Fast and Accurate was not nominated.  So to get in the gate at Churchill, the connections have to pay $200G's.  Looks like Fast and Accurate will pay it.

Other interesting notes:

Quote

+ Of the horses that started in the Kentucky Derby, the horse that won has always been ranked inside the top three – 2017 top three: Girvin, Classic Empire, Gormley.

+ No winner has ever had less than 130 points. If Girvin or Classic Empire do not win, this year will be the first.

+ The winner in the first four years of the points prep season also won their final prep, which earned them 100 points. 2017 candidates: Girvin, Classic Empire.

2000 guineas is on turf, and he'd be going against Churchill, a monster, a heavy favorite, who has already crushed Thunder Snow once.

1. Gunnevera

2. McKracken

3. Classic Empire

4. Girvin

5. Irish War Cry

Enjoyed watching MaCraken's impressive work this morning.

http://www.horseracingnation.com/news/Kentucky_Derby_2017_workouts_LIVE_Monday_April_24_123#

Not that the times were anything special but he seems to have a nice burst of speed, and the rider had him use it more than once..Galloped out for about a mile and looked like he could run all day..

Skip to times:

5:55 - Miss Sky Warrior (Kentucky Oaks) comes on

11:30 - McCraken comes on track

15:20 - Hence comes on track

16:20 - Hence workout (outside)

18:45 - McCracken workout

21:45 - Hence, McCracken exit track

Can't wait to bet McCraken (this is how it's spelled BTW) at 10-1

I was just being hip

You into a hip trip
Maybe hipper than hip
But what is hip?
So you became part of the new breed
Been smokin' only the best weed
Been hangin' out on the so-called hippest set
Being seen at all the right places
Being seen with just the right faces
You should be satisfied
Still it ain't quite right
What is hip?
