Liar.

You bought in litres.

Hence the use of 'the equivalent of'.

is your traffic lighter because of the higher prices?

Hard to judge after the past two years, people's behaviours have changed and the roads are quieter for it, but that could be for myriad reasons.

Most people are feeling the rise in the cost of living here that's for sure, especially working families. Heating oil is up 90%; Coal 60%; Electricity 60%; Food is rising at 2% - 3% per month; our National Insurance just went up by 1% of wages earned between £10k and £50k. Everything is more expensive.

EDIT: On the plus side, UK minimum wage for age 23+ is now $475 for a 40 hour week.

Saudi oil giant Aramco's first-quarter profits surge 80%

Oil giant Saudi Aramco said Sunday its profits soared more than 80% in the first three months of the year, as the state-backed company cashes in on the volatility in global energy markets and surging oil prices following Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

The bumper first-quarter earnings by the firm formally known as the Saudi Arabian Oil Co., which overtook Apple as the world’s most valuable company last week, show a record net income of $39.5 billion, up from $21.7 billion during the same period last year.

I blame the speculators more than the company.  The oh noes Ukraine people.  Russia bad.  Are driving the futures up.  The companies are just selling at what the cry wolf people are determining.  Nothing is changing on the companies end, so when everyone panics, it's $$ time.  The system is just fucked.  Speculation from the gambling pricks on Wall Street are guaranteeing it.

I think the word you were looking for is "inflation"

Still think we need "I did that!" stickers with these oil execs on them.
