I love the posting of odds before anyone even knows what opening day rosters will be. Rather like pre-season college football polls. Gives us something to talk about, but in the end it means jack.

The line for each team changes as the rosters change before opening day. This is just the opening lines....same as any other sport really where there's a game with a line and it shifts when a star player goes down, etc.

The Red Sox, Rangers and Padres might be worth putting 10 bucks on.

general rule of thumb when placing bets this far in advance is don't bet on teams with lots of recent hype (eg big free agent deals, etc) as those teams will likely be overrated by the bettors. Red Sox and Rangers are a couple teams that just might spend big this offseason and completely turn things around.

LOL @ Royals

.......and somewhere on a Royals message board you will find.....Lol @ Angels.

both teams are overrated by bettors because of recent success. IMO it was lightning in a bottle that we did as well in the regular season this year as we did. Next year winning the division won't be a cakewalk and we still need to figure out a way to reverse our 11 year history of quick playoff exits.

That's my point exactly. The planets all lined up for KC, more than for the Halos.

He's right. The Royals were an average team that got hot at the right time, you see it all the time in baseball. Weird sport this is. You are never going to see the Milwaukee Bucks get hot in March and roll to the NBA Finals...Baseball is rarely about the better team winning, its about the hot team.

I know, but just throwing out who I think have the best odds right now.

Nothing more!

I know a little about betting lines, thanks so much.

The lines shift as people bet on teams too. If everyone bets on other teams but not the Angels their line will creep up to say 15/1. If a lot of people keep betting on them to win the WS the line will creep down, say 6/1.
