when ishikawa came up to bat, i told my wife that it would be poetic justice for him to get a single after his poor play in left allowed the cards to score their first run. baseball likes things like that. but a homer? that was a little too much to hope for.

Dodgers fans must be losing their minds. They've had these super teams the last 2 years with nothing to show for it, getting bounced by the Cards in back to back years, only to watch the Giants continue to get it done AND beat the Cardinals on their way to their 3rd trip to the WS in the past 5 years

Kenny Lofton hit a walk-off single in Game 5 of the 2002 NLCS to send the Giants to the World Series. That game was against the Cardinals. Mike Matheny was catching for St. Louis and Albert Pujols was in his second year in the majors.

Tonight, he hit one of the biggest home runs in Giants' history.
