Can you imagine this course if the players weren't afraid of the ruff.  There is no reason not to just go full blast off the tee.  No huge penalty if you miss like in previous opens.  

 

And fyi.  This open is a joke.  If I wanted to watch links golf, I'd watch the British Open.

The British is better though cause the greens aren't absurdly firm and bumpy.  Plus you get those epic shots that defy physics and wind.

 

This is just crap in a lot of ways.  I hope whoever wins tomorrow actually wins and doesn't just not lose.

Gutsy performance yesterday, similar to Ken Venturi's in the 1964 Open, battling heat exhaustion on Sunday to win it.

He tees off at 3 pm in the final group. Heat will not be a problem at least.

 

The medication he's taking has made him feel nauseous. I think that golf course can make anyone feel the same way.

Considering the way the ball has been running off the fairways all weekend, it was a miracle that Johnson was perfect from the tee yesterday.

The golf course is awful. You have to walk up and down a series of stairs about a quarter-mile long to get from the 3rd green to the 4th tee. I was wondering if Day was going to make it. He doesn't look well right now.
