Growing up you were taught/assume that there are snipers on the roof of the white house with security at damn near every corner. Did this change?

 

Someone (didn't get the name) was saying that they didn't release the dog because of all the cops on the chase. They were afraid the dog would get confused and attack one of them.

 

I haven't heard a word about snipers. I was always told there was a machine gun on the roof and it was manned 24/7.

This is supposedly one of the most secure buildings in the world, yet a guy like this makes it deep inside? Sounds like there needs to be some serious reassessment of security measures there. Some people have gotten far too complacent.

 

The first family had left the White House just minutes earlier for Camp David.

 

He ran right past the short stairway to their living quarters on his way to the East Room. That's far too close for comfort!

True - regardless who it is or whether you agree with him. I thought the same thing on 9/11 when some people criticized Bush for not returning to Washington, when the last thing that should happen is for the Commander in Chief to go into a danger zone, which DC was at the time.
