Puig strikes again

The AW.com Puig Fest continues.

The way you guys fawn over him you'd think he was more than above mediocre.

He is!!!

He plays like a little leaguer that just hit the ball for the first time. I wouldn't have a problem with his growing pains. He hasn't even scratched the surface of his abilities. Just hope he isn't in prison or worse before he grows up.

I saw that live last night on the MLB channel when they cut to the Dodgers game and it was a complete team effort. They kept replaying it and the MLB crew kept laughing. Puig was only involved in the first errant throw and it was Ramirez that threw it away towards home plate. I love Endberg, "What's going on here? A little league game has broken out."

I also think he's an amazing talent and enjoy watching him play.  I think the bashing he gets from the media and fans is a little over the top.  He's definitely a knucklehead, but he's not a jerk like Pierzynski or a number of other guys.

Oh and that play was extremely funny on many levels for sure.

Up by 7 runs with Kershaw on the mound. Take the out and hold the damn ball IMO.

Haha, the SD announcer: "A little league game has broken out."

Not really, because even little leaguers know in fundamental baseball that Puig needs to throw to second in that situation.

That was Dick Enberg. Next you will be saying, Haha, the Los Angelesl announcer...

Puig caught the guy way off of first base and tried for the double play. I can't fault the guy for trying considering his arm. Gonzalez was a little handcuffed when it went on the runners side of the bag. That stuff happens on an infield hit but what was pretty unforgivable was the four other plays following Puigs throwing error, including Kershaw not even attempting a tag. Why cover home if you are not going to make a play?

I think Kershaw may have been concerned with the whole blocking the lane BS because he basically moved out of the way.  When he saw how much room there was he seemed to react in disgust.

A-Gon laughing afterwards was pretty hilarious IMO.  He may have been the only one.
