The point is, Beane stocks up his farm system with very frugal trades.  The Angels deplete the system with knee jerk trades.

 

Even if the As miss the playoffs, they have half the payroll of the Angels and still find a way to be more competitive than the Angels were the last four years.

 

Nate. just who from their frugal farm has been a contributor that didn't necessitate the A's from trading for Dunn? They have a bunch of 27 year old 4A guys on their roster and many of them are not bargains.

The play right before that was just as bad.   OF quit on a ball that dropped right in front of him.   CWS just gifted the A's a run.

Crisp's "single" was a routine flyball to LF and Viciedo just stops and backs up to play it on a bounce. Just awful. Got roundly booed from the crowd for that
