This is a pretty long closed-door meeting.

Melvin held meeting to impart that to team. Cuts session with reporters short after blasting team's performance past three games.

The team should be embarrassed that on a critical win day the manager got his ass thrown out arguing pitches with the umpire when the calls were correct.

Embarrassed that Melvin is their manager.

Especially when said umpire is known for having a tight strike zone. A hitter's umpire. Melvin knew that coming in, or should have.

Kazmir also behaved like a baby on the mound, and that didn't help them with the ump.

Quote from Melvin...

"What can you say? Embarrassing. Pathetic. We don't play like that," Melvin said. "The last three games here are the worst I've seen this team play in I can't remember how long. I feel bad for our fans who have to watch that."

Not many Managers would be so blunt.

I see he gave no credit to our incredible pitching staff. They're at least 75% of the reason we dominated the A's this weekend. Sure, they didn't play particularly well, but we would have beaten any team with the pitching we had the last few days.

The fans feel bad? I would think the players feel pretty bad getting blasted like that. It might backfire big time. Seattle is gunning for a wild card spot and we'll see what happens this week when they meet the A's.
