Six Flags' Colossus wood roller coaster to close Saturday

Recommended Posts

They're lucky it was at the highest point. If it started near the bottom the whole lift structure or more probably would've been gone.

The company that is building the new ride has caught 2 other wooden coaster projects on fire the same way, you'd think if they were cutting steel with torches around that much wood they'd have a few heavy duty fire extinguishers laying around, especially when it's happened before.

Ride looks amazing, cruises though the course, looking forward to some wicked airtime. Will be there on Thursday for the Gold Season Pass preview day. Love me the smell of fresh new roller coaster!

^ all this tech we have these days and they can't mount a gopro on there?

They will eventually. The park has POV's for every roller coaster in the park, they just haven't gotten around to it yet. Probably busy doing finishing touches on the ride and finishing up other work around the area right now.

Patience, grasshoppah.

Yeah...rode the coaster about half a dozen times yesturday for a preview day, definitely a hell of a ride. No doubt it's gonna be one of the most popular amongst visitors at the park.

Really no other ride in the park comes close, and the airtime is more prevelent and forceful than any other ride in the park. Only other rides that come close are Tatsu and The X, but they're really completely different experiences.

I suggest anyone who's on the wall about this ride to go check it out, you won't be disappointed.
