Yeah I definitely think that any driver that gets out of their car and does anything other than rush to safety should face heavy fines and suspension.

Giving Stewart the benefit of the doubt. You really think he wanted to clip the guy?

 

Stewart knows how dangerous hitting a person is, his Nascar reputation is on the line, he's a racer at heart, etc.

 

You're racing on a short track, yellow flag comes out, you slow down, this guy is suddenly in your headlights while you're paying attention to the track and who knows what the hell you'd do.

 

Dude getting out of his vehicle to make a point to a racer with other cars speeding by is downright moronic.

 

If the guy who crashed kept his cool none of this woulda happened.

Asians know how to drift. It's you white boys that drive the same regardless of conditions. Then again, some Asians also like to drift on asphalt also. Which explains the 3 lane right turns.

Asians know how to drift because their girlfriends make them take them to dinner every night so they can't save up to replace their bald tires.

It is why you never see Asians give Yelp reviews for tire stores.

I am sure the folks who post here have seen the footage of the accident over and over again by now.

 

I am not a NASCAR / race car sport fan and don't  really follow it so you folks are lot more up on this stuff than I am --- but just looking at the footage of the incident on the various You Tube versions of it, what was the driver doing getting out and walking on a live race track, pointing at cars and then walking (or so it appears so in the video) to the middle of the race track while the race is in progress........Stewart's car may have fish-tailed -- but it looked as if the other guy walked right into the vehicle.........perhaps Stewart fish-tailed because he caught site of the guy in the track at the last second.....tragic story all around..........terrible.

If you think american racing is stupid.  You should see some clips from Europe's road racing.  Not only are the drivers nuts, but the fans are just as nuts.

European racing is 100x better.  F1, BTCC, and WRC are incredibly exciting and require a whole hell of a lot more skill than driving a gigantic sedan around in a circle.

I watched the video. The first driver in the blue car managed to miss Ward but Stewart didn't...

The fact that this happened at night made it imperative that the inexperienced driver get off the track quickly.

 

That being said, Stewart has been a spokesperson for "crazy drivers" over the years.

He needs to rethink even being in the profession any more.
