AO- He has been nothing short of spectacular this first half.  Although he is getting older and his typing speed is decreasing with each month, he makes up for that lack of speed with passion and a willingness to put everything on the line.  The self bans are one thing and they are almost expected buthis demeanor in the NHL playoffs really took him to a new level.  Berating aw.com members who are Ducks fans was really a new aspect of his arsenal we had not yet seen before.  His only fault was in his aw.com membership was jumping back into the gameday thread to double down on a self-ban.  Some might think it funny but it did show that AO really can be too immature at times.

I think the fact they are 20 games over .500 at the break has tempered any criticism.  They could add some depth in the starting rotation and BP, especially with OAK's recent trade, but, overall, they are a very good team with few weaknesses

McDonald - D McGlovin is a good nickname for him

Freese - C very positive performance for him the last ~30 games

Iannetta - B

Conger - D

 

Defense - B+ Overall good D and great improvement from last year, some weak spots like C when Iannetta is starting, 1b when Cron is starting and 3b with Freese.

 

Coaching/Managing B+ Scioscia made some real head scratching moves but overall he has done a really good job.  Especially when Dipoto took his toy Ibanez away.  Pitching has shown good improvement and baserunning/defense is a big improvement from last season.

 

Dipoto - B for every Skaggs there is an Ibanez.
