There are a few bad fan bases out there. 

 

- Oakland: The wife and I had to be escorted to our car after the game in Oakland.  One man threatened to kill me when I chanted MVP after a Trout HR.  Basically Raider fans dressed in green and gold.  They don't know any of the players but they sure do love Billy Beane since Moneyball came out. 

 

- Texas: Stupid and redneck, which usually go together.  Hamilton points out the obvious and they pretend like he wasn't largely respinsible for them being relevant for the past few years. 

 

- Yankees: They don't actually have any fans because anyone who claims to be a Yankees fan couldn't name more than 2 players in their lineup.  Idiots just buy the hat on the shelf because they want to be cool.

 

- Red Sox: See the Yankees.  Basically the same exact thing, just the other side of the fence. 

 

- Detroit: Unintelligent, angry, filth.  Convinced Cabrera is better than Trout just like they're convinced Stafford is better than Peyton Manning.  So horribly stupid and illogical that you can't actually argue with them.  It's like arguing with a 3 year old and it just ends up a mess.

Detroit fans seem to care about Mike Trout more than us at times. Their hatred for Trout has gone so far, that at times you could see more Tiger fans comment on a Trout article than Angel fans.

I bet a part of the reason Trout wasn't the top vote getter for the all star game was because a fair amount of Tiger fans deliberately left him off of the ballot too.

They may have become Trout haters more than Cabrera lovers.

No. Miggy was a good choice for the MVP the last two years. I think most Angels fans will admit this.

 

To the average Tigers fan, Trout is overrated and on steroids and is nowhere near the talent Miggy is because Miggy has built a career around hitting homers, driving in runs, and beating his wife.

Sorry, but I think Oakland is worse. I was at the game the Angels clinched the division in Oakland about 10 years ago. I was a teenager and people were throwing things at my dad and I, and I got beer poured on me trying to leave.

Also, we have DW who posts here and he is intelligent and fun to talk baseball with. So there is at least 1 intelligent Oakland fan out there. That is 1 more than Detroit.

I used to go to A's games all the time while in college -- these were the Bash Brothers era, three time WS participant A's.... so their fans were pretty cocky, even downright arrogant at times but whatever they had the bragging rights.   I'd wear my Angels gear, I'd be loud, I caught the sort of crap you would expect to catch but it never turned ugly, if anything the more I responded in kind the mellower the situation got -- they seemed to enjoy the back and forth..  Maybe they have changed, maybe it was just because I was a college guy having fun with them but I found A's fans to be pretty entertaining.   Giants fans on the other hand were asshats.
