Short term, great deal.  But we shall see long term.  Samardzija has one year after this before FA'cy.  Hammel is a FA after this season.

Yeah, I'm a little surprised by this.  Hammel's not all that.  In fact, if healthy, I bet Straily puts up numbers that are just as good.

Samardzija is pretty good but man...if the A's were gonna deal Russell for 1.5 seasons of a starter, should have been holding onto that card in a potential David Price deal

 

People want to talk about how bad the Angels farm is....A's probably have the worst farm system in MLB now after this trade
