I'm surprised so many of you have tried the Habit.

It was a Santa Barbara secret up until a few years ago.

They opened one by my office next to the LB Airport. Try the fried green beans. Yummm.

As for delicious meat sandwiches, you can't go wrong with Philippes in LA.

4 The most awesome and incredible hot mustard on the planet.

And they have homemade pie for dessert!!

Just looked at the results and the Habit got best burger, INO actually got the highest grade overall. Still a little bitter that they were graded higher, as always we will look inward and do what we do and try to be better.

In N out makes the best standard, all american old fashioned burger, hands down.

 

the habit's got some killer speciality burgers, though.  Maybe that's why they're a bit higher in that area

I like Counter more than Habit.  But I guess Counter is more of a sit down restaurant.

Had the INO today for lunch.  2 cheeseburgers with onion and pickles.  I like to order 2 burgers, rather than the double-double because I like all the fresh veggies.  However, I may have aged to the point where 2 burgers are too much.  Oh and the chocolate shake was excellent.  I don't order shakes much because I hate using all my gay porn BJ skills just to get a taste of the shake in the first minutes after I get it.  INO shake didn't require a magnitude 6 suck to get the shake up the straw.  And for this I applaud!

I've only been to the one in Claremont. It's one of the fad build your own burger type of places.

Phillipes, Portillos and Top Round Roast Beef are my go to places for sandwiches depending on what area of SoCal I am in for the day.

 

For burritos I would say Dianas, Issacs and El Tepeyac are at the top for LA.

 

Moved recently to Canyon Lake and I have found a few hidden gems. Aztlan Cafe (Central and the 15) makes some of the best tacos you will ever have. The Spicy Shrimp, Asada/Chorizo and Al Pastor are crazy good.

 

If you like good BBQ, go hit up a little spot in Murrieta called Calhouns. Hole in the wall with a meat smoker outside. Some of the best brisket I have had anywhere.
