From reading the reactions from Canadiens' fans, we got a deal here. I don't know anything about him, but from reading fans' input, he's fast, decent shot, good at battling for the puck, and sound defensively. I like it.

 

Now go get some defensive help so we don't have to see Stoner in the lineup as often.

Silf is ridiculous in shootouts. Gibson had some sick saves in OT.

This. Goalies know Silf is going to shoot and not deek and he still beats them regularly. He needs to shoot more; he releases it so quickly and it's pretty accurate.

Really does sound like a win win.  Habs had too many left wingers, and needed size.  Ducks had too many right wingers, and needed quicker skill.  Sekac gets to move back to his usual position of left wing.

I love that Bob doesn't mortgage the future in his deals.  The Ducks will be strong for quite a while with him as GM.

Andersen could be out for another week or so. I'll look for the twitter post, but it seems now more that he is getting some rest in so he is fresh for the stretch run and the playoffs.

Sekac might be held up arriving to the Ducks while waiting for a work visa. In doubt for tomorrow night's game, possibly will play on Friday? No word yet on where BB plans to play him.

 

I think you have to give him a look right away on the top line with the twins, right? The Ducks have been rumored to be searching for a compliment to them for quite some time this season.

These trades interest me, when you give up one 22-year-old winger for another. You're basically gambling and saying "our assessment of players is better than yours". Hopefully we're right. I'll miss DSP though. While his lack of skills could be a little frustrating at times, he was still a good young player and likeable too.

 

Funny to see that Bryz accepted his Norfolk assignment. Surely even if it got to the stage where Gibson and Freddie were both out for the season, we'd find a better solution than sticking Bryz back in net.

That was a nice episode about the Ducks and teaching kids about hockey.  I think the Samulei's had a big part of doing this.  It has henry's engineering background all over it.  Which is a really good thing of mixing hockey with science, and making it fun for kids, but learning something new.
