This experiment should be over.  Although I would not put it past the ducks to stick with Brys till the last set of back to backs, then call Gibson up for the stretch run and playoffs.  Really, ATM, the only time Brys is going to see any time is in back to backs.  And we only got 4 more of those left.  I don't remember how hockey goes and playoffs.  When you have to add people to the roster to make them qualified.

Random Duck thoughts:

Is there any chance that the Honda scoreboard ends up in San Diego when they put the new one in the Honda Center? Or, is the timing just a coincidence?

I used to think that Gene Mauch wound his teams up so tight that they were just wore out at the end of the season and that was what caused there collapses. I now think maybe he was able to get more out of his players in a long regular season and in the playoff run (or playoffs) when everyone is better able to ramp it up, he didn't have the talent to compete. I wonder if this is Bruce's problem. A lot of analysists feel the Ducks overplay their talent level. Maybe they're more right than most Duck fans are willing to believe.

If price wasn't a factor, what seats at a hockey game are the best (besides glass). And has anyone ever been to a game at the Valley View Casino Center (San Diego, where the AHL team will be)? Any feed back would be appreciated.

Unless it was one of the top 5-7 defense players in the NHL, I think the Ducks would be better off obtaining a high quality shooter before the trade deadline. I know we need D help. I just think our D problem is more inexperience mistakes and will remain with the addition of one defensive player. A goal scorer would definitely have an impact.

The sd sports arena reminds me of the la sports arena. 2 tiers. Nothing special And It's old

If it's like the LA Sports arena, then bottom level is where you want to be.  I had season tickets to the first and only season the ice dogs were in LA at the sports arena.  There were maybe 100 people a game, but it was cheap hockey.  I had seats like 10 rows up behind the visitors penalty box.  Which was perfect, since you could see action on both sides of the ice.  I did not like glass seats, because it's hard to see action down the other end.  And it was within shouting range of the penalty box.  Heckling players was so much fun.  lol.  Best one was when a player named DePalma went to the box.  You could guess the subject matter of the heckles.  The high point is if they turn around and give you a stare.  lol

Best bet, is call them up for season seats.  Get on the list.  They usually go from top to bottom on the list.  Go to the stadium and pick out your seats.  Hopefully they will have the hockey rink all set up so you can see everything.  But center ice, the glass isn't as tall.  Make sure the boards aren't in the way of the goals.  I prefer the penalty box side as opposed to the Bench side.  You have a clearer view of line changes, and less of a chance of someone standing up blocking the view like a coach.  Since the plexi isn't as high centerice, I was enough rows back so that I had a clear unobstructed view of both goals.

2nd round exit right now. We can't compete with Chicago that's for damn sure. Might make it to the WCF but that's still questionable. Gotta get stronger on D. Brewer looked solid last night so that'll help but I still think we need one more D and one more Winger.

I don't. They're struggling to beat the bad teams and then getting demolished by the better teams. I've tried to stay positive, but the Ducks need to make a few moves in order to be real cup contenders.

As opposed to last year when we were beating the snot out of the Kings and then getting destroyed in Game 7?  Its the regular season.  I take it you've never watched hockey before.

That's cute.  Nice assumption.  Actually, I have season seats and have played hockey for a predominant portion of my life.

Their goal differential and overall play has been lackluster at best.  Possession numbers are up a bit from last year, but they were below a 50% puck possession team last year, so it's not a huge accomplishment.  The Ducks looked horribly outmatched against the Hawks and even the Sharks, to be honest.

If you're Mr. Hockey expert, please tell me what feels different this year.  Beating borderline McDavid teams in OT when coming back from a two goal deficit in the third is not an accomplishment.  You can call it "battle tested", I'll call it a team squeaking out victories against subpar teams.

Like I said, Chicago just lost last night 3-0 to the Wild.  Its the regular season, we havent even been healthy for a majority of the year.  And its funny how you mention us being outmatched in the last 2 games against the Hawks and the Sharks.  Did you not read the portion of my post when I mentioned how we beat the snot out of the Kings last year, only to lose to them in 7 games?

Yes, one game is indicative of the talent the Hawks have.  Also, the Wild have been underperforming all season long; have you seen the goaltenders they were rolling out this year?  As for the Ducks beating the snot out of the Kings last year, did I miss something?  The Ducks were 4-0-1 last year against the Kings in the regular season with one of those wins being a shootout.  Their biggest win was the 3-0 stadium series game that, really, wasn't that lopsided of a game (iirc the Ducks scored an empty netter late as well).  Overall the Ducks played very competitive games against the Kings.  As for how they lost in the playoffs: the Kings turn it up in the playoffs.  They were the first 8 seed ever to win the cup.  They also have this guy named Quick who can carry them through games.

Also comparing this team to the Kings is laughable, as much as it pains me to say.  They are a puck possession team and also had a better goal differential last year.  They have a truly elite defenseman, goalie, and multiple Selke worthy forwards.  The Ducks, not so much.

What is your deal?  Did someone piss in your cereal today?  Not everyone is blinded by the Ducks point total.  There are holes in this lineup, whether you like to admit it or not.
