Yes, it was all part of a vast Zionist conspiracy where Jews Launched a massive attack on Pearl Harbor with aircraft that looked like Japanese planes which forced America into WWII. They knew the Japanese, being short people with self esteem issues and a Napoleon complex would never admit they had nothing to do with such a successful attack and played right into the Jews hands.

From there it was easy to manipulate the US into not only attacking the Japanese but also their allies the Germans and most importantly Italians since they were primarily Catholic and that is where the Pope resides. The Germans made a futile attempt to rid the world of Jews that obviously were up to no good by ramping up their concentration camp executions that were completely misunderstood by the 101st infantry when overrun and the paperwork went missing due to some sloppy administrative assistants, probably Austrian or Hungarian of birth.

In the end the Jews lost millions of people but they got their prized possession, a piece of arid desert land with no sustainable economy and a bunch of Arabs bordering three sides of them. You have to read between the lines of history textbooks. I would recommend Professor Howard Zinn for help.

I hate to admit this but, this is probably the best thing I have read on this forum in a long time.  Well done.

Whatever blows your hair back.

They weren't just "at sea". You make it sound like they were just told to cruise around the islands for a bit. Two were gone to deliver planes to Wake Island and Midway in anticipation of possible trouble there due to aggressive pre-war actions by Japan (since they were deemed much more logical locations for an initial attack by Japan) and the last was getting retrofit work done in San Diego. It's not like they were sent out the day before. It had been a while since they were there.

Plus, protecting aircraft carriers wouldn't have even been the main priority if the government had advance notice of the attack. Aircraft carriers weren't the capital ships of any navy at the time of the attack. The only reason Japan featured them so heavy during the attack was that it was the only way they were able to reach us. Their battleships weren't going to be able to get close enough. If not for the attack being so successful in crippling the US Navy and basically leaving us with only our aircraft carriers to fight back the war could have gone much differently. If we had successfully repelled the attack we very well could have spent the next half-decade fighting in sea battles that featured our battleships must prominently. It was just luck and random chance that our non-carriers force was so impacted that we so quickly stumbled on the new, more effective strategy of carrier-centric warfare.

The declassified memos are as relevant as any memos on any calendar event during the current year. They may be spot on target or speculation. Sometimes they look like Nostradamus speaking in hindsight when at the time they may have been ignored and filed away along with reports that the Germans will invade though South America. So many voices speak during times of crisis but few are listened to.

Billy Mitchell outlined how bombers could wipe out an entire fleet of battleships back in 1921-22. Through tests they put to sea decommissioned captured German battleship and convoys from WWI and took pictures of the event. It distressed the Navy that just received several commissions to increase their battle fleet that Mitchell was exposing their vulnerability. There were also 3 US battleships, the Alabama, Virginia and New Jersey sunk by aerial bombardment.

The Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma, California and West Virginia were all sunk in Pearl Harbor. Their commissions started in 1915-1922. These are the ships Mitchell was pointing out 20 years before the attack on Pearl Harbor would be vulnerable to aerial bombing. In a political move the Army swept his findings under a rug but it had already reached international acclaim and not unnoticed by the Japanese.

Now, did Mitchell predict the Japanese would bomb the US Fleet from carriers? Nope. He was adamant that bombers from land based runways would be the attack or defense point. He never considered the Aircraft carrier relevant and for good cause at the time. The planes that could take off and land on an aircraft carrier were lightweight in design and could not carry a bomb lethal enough to do damage to a dreadnaught.

20 years later they could and one year after the bombing of Pearl, James Doolittle staged a suicidal raid with B-25 Mitchell bombers launched off aircraft carrier Hornet to make a bombing run on the mainland of Japan. It was successful and struck fear into the Japanese that they were not invincible and not protected by their own fleet.

I'm sure there is a memo about this as well that has been declassified.

In Japan.

First Barbary War, the first declared war the United States fought on foreign land and seas:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_Barbary_War

In March 1785, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams went to London to negotiate with Tripoli's envoy, Ambassador Sidi Haji Abdrahaman (or Sidi Haji Abdul Rahman Adja). When they enquired "concerning the ground of the pretensions to make war upon nations who had done them no injury", the ambassador replied:

It was written in their Koran, that all nations which had not acknowledged the Prophet were sinners, whom it was the right and duty of the faithful to plunder and enslave; and that every mussulman who was slain in this warfare was sure to go to paradise. He said, also, that the man who was the first to board a vessel had one slave over and above his share, and that when they sprang to the deck of an enemy's ship, every sailor held a dagger in each hand and a third in his mouth; which usually struck such terror into the foe that they cried out for quarter at once.

We see the same thing today.  Muslims kidnapping and holding individuals for ransom.  When the ransom isn't paid, beheadding.

Hopefully this time we'll squash them once and for all.  Obama needs to unleash the full force of the U.S. military.

Read Operation Northwoods while you're at it. That is a very detailed document of how the US planned to bomb Washington DC/Miami and/or fake hijack commercial airliners to start a war with Cuba, (JFK rejected it).

Why would we want to use some crackpot idea to validate another crackpot idea?

To be honest Nate, I don't think it has anything to do with Obama. America in the last 14 years has lost its clout.

If you were the head of another country and America came knocking on your door asking for your assistance would you help? I sure as hell wouldn't.

I don't think that analogy works, we aren't asking for help for something that is just effecting us.  Regardless I think the Euros would be wise to not piss off the U.S considering they need our clout with Russia pushing on their borders.
