Reading his original quote, without hearing the tone of his voice, I would almost just take it as flattery type quote for how unbelievable he's been. His explanation though doesn't do him any favors though.

Just heard Krukow's comments. He definitely wasn't joking around or talking in jest. Walt Weiss had an awesome response "We do it all. We have a lightbulb on the scoreboard, we flash. Keep an eye on Dinger (mascot), he's involved. We switch out the balls, the umpires are in on it."

I think it's just more of the fact that Coors is the best hitters park in baseball combined with him being incredibly locked in and comfortable right now.

I just spent three days in Carson City, and Giants baseball was all I could get in my hotel room when I returned at the end of the day. That meant two days of Giants-Rockies. Their announcers had an absolute meltdown when RP Santiago Casilla injured himself running out a ground ball with two out in the top of the ninth last night. Just seconds earlier, they had mentioned another pitcher who was injured in a similar situation several seasons ago. As Casilla lay on the ground in pain, they kept saying "Unbelievable".

 

Looks like he's out for four weeks.
