Until you said that (since no one else questioned it) I thought that it was some kind of inside thing that only I didn't get.

I figured that the stagecoach thing was irrelevant after reading that the woman upstairs was not his blood aunt, but his aunt by marriage. After that I figured the whole post was probably littered with non-important details and that the stagecoach thing was just one of them. No clue what it is, though. Is it a place or a thing?

Sonic boom is possible but pretty tough to localize enough to affect only one house. Check with the neighbors and see if anyone else got this sensation.
