Oldest golfer passes away (Ethan Shelton, 110)

I loved this story. What a great guy. He took up golf at 72 and continued to play until almost the very end. In the past year he started violin lessons. Lived on his own in the home he bought in 1947. His wife of 69 years died in 1995.

WOW... Very impressive.  That's how you live from now on.

 

I'm 45 and still VERY active with chasing my kids around.  In addition, I work hard to continue to compete in ice hockey, baseball, swimming, water polo, golf, etc.  I think it's very important to set an example of fitness for my kids, along with still having fun competing.

 

I was complaining of some aches and pains to my Pops today, after a Sunday spent playing baseball diving for balls, sliding, and taking some serious hacks.  He told me I'm getting too old, and should stop playing and start coaching or something... Bahhwuahahahaha!  The week I can't still play is the week they'll be spreading my ashes!

 

RIP, Ethan after a life well-lived.  You have motivated everyone who reads your story.

My great Uncle who is 99 years old still plays golf out in Upland/Rancho once a week and still shoots under 100.
