My favorite part of that Lemon segment was when he pulled out the Harvard study. When the Sheriff turned it around on him and used the exact same study, all of a sudden it was a weak surgery and invalid.

Ok, is it just me, or does this not make any sense.  Why would a police officer have an assault rifle?  Again, if there was a huge problem, they would arm themselves.  But for people in the street?  Even during riots they aren't armed with assualt rifles.  SWAT in the background might be armed with them.  Just doesn't make sense.

Ever since the LA shooting involving bank robbers  in Kevlar the LAPD issues assault rifles instead of shotguns. Even the San Dimas sheriff roll with them. 

The 911 call said persons with a gun. Given the recent ambushes there is no reason not to carry the best weapon for defense and that is a rifle versus a pistol. 

The officer fucked up and should be relieved of duty.

Agreed. Watching that video, the guy on the ground did EVERYTHING he could do de-escalate the situation and explain everything as clear as day to the officers. What did he get for it? a bullet in the leg that could have easily killed him.

Yeah but cops are assholes.

Seriously the average person jumps out of the car and runs not caring if the car explodes and kills people. These two guys made the decision their lives were expendable to insure the public safety. 

This thread feels more like it is based on a false premise.
