The Angels' new-look rotation did not get off to the start GM Jerry Dipoto and manager Mike Scioscia were hoping for, recording only four quality starts in the first 14 games of the season, but they're starting to come around. View the full article

I want people to put their money where their mouths are and have it in stone. Will we win a championship with the big three? I say yes.

What's up with FanGraphs WAR this year? Trout is having one of his worst months of his career and he's at a 1.2 fWAR. He'll probably end up at 1.5 by the end of the month, and this will probably be one of his worth months of the year. Say he plays this way all season... 1.5 WAR per month x 6 = 9 WAR by the end of the year. This is if Trout plays how he's playing now, which won't happen because he'll be playing better. Is this real life?

My newest article at MWAH - http://www.monkeywithahalo.com/2013-articles/april/the-toll-of-trading-prospects.html It's legitimately entertaining to envision a farm system with Segura, Skaggs, Corbin, Amarista, Hellweg, Pena and Donn Roach in it. In fact, arguably, if the Angels didn't pull these trades, they'd have the strongest farm system in baseball. This means that arguments that say the Angels don't develop certain kinds of players is completely false. The Angels are as good as anyone at developing legitimate talent. But when you trade away most of the legitimate talent, you're left will what the Angels have now, which is lacking in certain areas.

Blanton had a rocky start on Mon. night. But the fact is he did have a three run lead. Then a solid single and a bloop single. Exit Blanton and in comes De La Rosa who promptly gives up a walk and an RBI single. The two runs get charged to Blanton. The fact is that a true reliever (something that is rare in Anaheim) should have stopped the Rangers without scoring. Afterall, his arm is fresh, he is being seen for the first time that night. Don't ever trust ERA's they don't reflect the true story. BTW, the Angel position players need make the pitching staff and especially the relievers, take a separate plane on road trips. Because these guys aren't actin…

First post since my return... Did anyone read the column in the LA Times by J.T. Simers back on April 13th? It's been bothering me. I think he insulted every single fan who can't afford diamond seats. Quote: "Hey, I don't know why anyone goes to a baseball game anymore, what with the parking, concessions and the unwashed sitting all around. And what's the thrill in watching one of 162 baseball games?" I get it. He hates baseball. But who exactly are the 'unwashed' ? http://www.latimes.com/sports/baseball/mlb/angels/la-sp-simers-20130413,0,6869859.column

He's a really nice guy and very knowledgable. Just like McCarver, he thinks he must make some type of lengthy commentary after every damn pitch. Maybe that's what the producers want.

By Joe Haakenson, AngelsWin.com Contributor - APRIL 23, 2002 GAME 20 - ANGELS AT MARINERS SEATTLE -- Angels manager Mike Scioscia says he believes the first 20 games his team has played are the exception, not the rule. The track records of his players, he says, reflect different numbers than the ones they have put up so far this season. But after Tuesday's 1-0 loss to the Seattle Mariners before 32,127 at Safeco Field, the only numbers that count are in the win-loss column, where the Angels are 6-14. It is the worst start through 20 games in franchise history. After a 3-2 start, the Angels have lost 12 of 15, including all six to the Mariners. The Mariners now lead…

.105 BA, .174 OBP, .279 OPS with RISP Most any player would put up these stats blindfolded, even Mathis. His signing is the equivalent of Arte taking $125 million dollars and lighting it on fire.

Have you guys heard of him? He's the most well-known "ball-hawk" in the business ( I think he's currently beating me 6,500-something to 5...). He's written a couple of books, including "The Baseball" which I recently picked-up. You can also follow him at his blog "The baseball collector" as he visits different Stadiums during the season. I don't go to games intent on gathering baseballs, but I like to follow him to see his pics from the different stadiums and read about his hawking adventures. http://zackhample.mlblogs.com/2013/04/22/42113-at-angel-stadium/

Though the Angels boast plenty of star power, actual power has been in short supply this season, so they've needed lesser-known sources to emerge, like Howie Kendrick, who hit two homers Tuesday and drove in seven runs in two days against the AL West-rival Rangers. View the full article

Kendrick's second home run of night beats Rangers, 5-4. Trout makes a great catch in the ninth. A frustration-filled game ended in jubilation for the Angels on Tuesday night when Howie Kendrick hit the team's second walk-off home run in three days, a solo shot to center that gave the Angels a 5-4, 11-inning victory over the Texas Rangers.
