A source has told me that Greinke was blown away by Nolan Ryan and Rangers Front Office..loves the ML team, prospects and chances to Win WS

Apparently Zack didn't watch much of the last two postseasons. ;-)

Wonderful.

At least there are two wild card teams now!

... and Houston plays 7 more games against the Angels than they do against the Yankees, Orioles or Blue Jays, or Rays.

It's also kind of sad that there's a good chance the second place team in the AL Central finishes with a worse record than the 4th place team in the AL East.

Let him pitch in that hellhole. He'll love the 3.75+ ERA he will routinely put up there as well as dealing with the heat. Dude is clearly all about the money.

Why is Greinke choosing to play for the Rangers a sign that he is only about chasing the money? The Rangers have been to the World Series 2 of the last 3 years, while the Angels have missed the playoffs during that same time. The Rangers are loaded with offense, and have a much deeper farm system especially since the Angels depleted theirs just to get him. It's not that unappealing of a place to play these days if you're chasing a ring, and getting paid a ton of money on top of that doesn't hurt either.

He'll end up in Texas, barring some major shift. Don't care

Sooooo.. He loved the meeting, loves their future potential, apparently loves the area... So why hasn't he signed yet? This seems to be dragging along a bit given everything that's been said. Wonder who or what is keeping Grienke from making his choice.

The whole situation on Greinke is strange. The Dodgers are the "clear leader", then they're "bowing out". The Angels are "moving on without Greinke", then they're "in the thick of it". If the stories about both the Dodgers and Angels being out were true the Rangers would be the only team standing, yet he hasn't signed. The truth is that no one has any real idea where the negotiations stand with anybody, and this could drag on into January.

I find it ironic that a bunch of nerds that, if given the chance to pitch in front of thousands of people, would publicly poop their pants, are giving a guy shit for having issues with anxiety.
