At least there are two wild card teams now!
... and Houston plays 7 more games against the Angels than they do against the Yankees, Orioles or Blue Jays, or Rays.
It's also kind of sad that there's a good chance the second place team in the AL Central finishes with a worse record than the 4th place team in the AL East.

| Why is Greinke choosing to play for the Rangers a sign that he is only about chasing the money? The Rangers have been to the World Series 2 of the last 3 years, while the Angels have missed the playoffs during that same time. The Rangers are loaded with offense, and have a much deeper farm system especially since the Angels depleted theirs just to get him. It's not that unappealing of a place to play these days if you're chasing a ring, and getting paid a ton of money on top of that doesn't hurt either. |

If the stories about both the Dodgers and Angels being out were true the Rangers would be the only team standing, yet he hasn't signed. The truth is that no one has any real idea where the negotiations stand with anybody, and this could drag on into January.
