Wouldn't surprise me to see Haren re-signed for 1 year.

I never thought the Angels were going to sign him. I figured he was either going to re-sign with NY or return to Japan.

This reminds me of the end of the 2010 season. One by one free agents were picked off the board by other teams and we ended up with a desperation trade for VW.

I don't think Kuroda was every coming here to begin with. Our main target is Greinke or Sanchez.

That 38-year old pitcher would've cost us a 1st round draft pick. Never wanted him at that cost. Money is one thing, money and future picks is another.

It's not even Thanksgiving yet. We lost out on two players we probably weren't going to get anyway.

Don't worry, trading a "part-time" catcher for a legitimate upper echelon CF for only a four year deal was far wiser than a six year player whose career year was at age 25 before he hit free agency? Right?

Well done. I was wondering how you would work in either Wells or Pujols into this thread.

Relax, peeps. Remember last year, when the major splashes weren't until the winter meetings? No need to find the panic button...yet.

Haren at 13.5 million for 1 year = Kuroda at 15 million for 1 year.

I would have liked to get Kuroda, but holy sh*t that's too much for him.

This off-season's "major splash" free agent list is slim and none.

Chris Iannetta has never been a reliable full-time catcher either. The most games he's ever started at Catcher during a regular season was 105. He's only averaged about 80 starts at Catcher per season during his career.

Moral of the story is ... get used to over paying for FREE AGENTS!

I had the same idea. I knew that the Angels were interested, but nobody the Yankees really want ever leaves.

Wouldn't be the worse thing in the world if Conger takes a step forward and shares the job with him....lefty/righty combo, keep them both fresh....

You can't be serious. You think Haren for 13.5 is the same as Kuroda for 15? Haren has injury concerns and is coming off a bad year. Kuroda has neither of those.
