| Would the Diamondbacks take a package with Trumbo and Conger? Or, Do we have enough in the lower levels to do a package including Trumbo and some A-short season A prospects?
We as a group tend to overvalue and undervalue our players.
Could a package of a few on both teams help both?
Angels:
Trumbo
Conger
Lindsey
Grichuck
PB
D-Backs:
Upton
Bauer - If the reports are true?
Cahill
Now this isn't a proposed trade. I'm wondering of available players.

Location: California | Upton? Under contract for 3 more years, I'd say it'd cost the Angels Bourjos (to replace him in CF), Cowart as their future 3B and a pitcher, just because you can never have enough of those, so Maronde.
By the way, no way I pay Bourjos, Cowart and Maronde for Upton. We aren't that desperate for an OF, so pass. |

Why another outfielder?
I'm just looking at the lineup and the future. Not completely sold on Trumbo. But, that doesn't make me think he wouldn't have a great career in the NL.
Dipoto knows their system and players. Upton has been reportedly placed on the block and a lineup including Trout, Upton, Cowart, Cron and an aging Pujols in the future makes me wonder that's all. |

| another idea i would not be in favor of... there are reasons why guys like this become available, and they have nothing to do with on field stuff.. not a guy i want on my team and it speaks volumes that noone else seems to want him either |

you need a link to tell you its not a good thing that someone with so much raw talent would even be available?
besides, were not exactly in need of an OF
how about looking at a 3B or something we actually need?

Actually, the Diamondbacks have a strong farm system. And may be looking to keep payroll low. They dealt Young to Oakland and Upton has 14M salaries coming up. |

| As Scotty already pointed out, Upton would cost more than he is really worth. He's a good player, but I would much rather the Angels keep their few really good prospects and have Trumbo in the OF. |
