Hall of Fame Posts: 7413 | I believe they first did the thunderstix in 2002. I went to a game where Glaus hit a 3 run shot off of Arthur Rhodes. I think the rest of that year, we did all right too. I don't remember

Big League Angels Posts: 1263 | Thunderstix create the loudest experiance Ive ever had at a stadium. Ive been to Qwest field and an Angels playoff game with the stix was louder.

Cedar Rapids (Low-A) Posts: 336 Location: Eastvale | I dont' get some people hate on the Thunderstix. They create a lot of noise and get the crowd into the game. Better than waving some stupid towel around like every other stadium does.

Big League Angels Posts: 1200 Location: W. BFE | They have been lame since Nov. '02. I say this, of course, knowing that my internet comment could have an adverse effect on the team's performance this weekend. F'n me.

Big League Angels Posts: 1200 Location: W. BFE | I got no problem with volume, Junior. Got hearing loss and tinnitus to prove it. I just think the stix are played. The were a wonderful addition to the surreal atmosphere in '02. Since then, the fan enthusiasm with them just isn't there. Maybe the dbs of '02 ruined it for me, I just expect more when they pass them out and am usually disappointed. I don't think they are worth carrying the rap that we Angel fans need noisemakers. All in all, though, I don't give a big pile of steaming Rangerdom if they pass them out. Pretty sure I'll put them to good use, too, if they give them out on Sat.
