Getting psyched for the season. Welcome to the board, Bballfan12. We had a thread about 20 pages long between our old board and this one before we lost our data due to a SQL issue with no backup (My bad). But good to kick this off again. Good group of guys and gals that love the Halos here.

![]() Hall of Famer Posts: 22727 Location: AngelsWin.com: Where Angels Fans Are @ | For those asking where all the threads (2000), posts (19,746) etc. went in this forum and all the other forums at Angelswin.com, we had a database issue and lost everything. My maintenance plan that was enabled was firing off so we had to start from scratch. I apologize for the inconvenience but guess what? We have backups now!

Big League Angels Posts: 1189 | I lived in Simi Valley last season and still made it to about 30 games! It gets better this year, since I moved to the valley. I have my 27-game plan rearing to go and I plan on buying some more singles. Get your butt to the stadium! We need more less-than-clueless fans at the ballpark!

| Buenos dias todos! I've decided to give this forum a try since I have heard such good things about it. I try to restrict myself on the number of forums I visit, but Angelmania said that this place was "just another GSC", so I had to find out how this could possibly be without the GSC president in attendance. :O) I also plan on visiting Matt's Halo Haven more this year. Anybody still posting over there? I feel a little bad, because that seemed like a great site and just didn't get the support I think it deserved. Anyway....onto the browsing. :) | |||

| Hello, My Lady.... I'm still trying to get used to the new format. It is similar to HH so shouldn't take long. I see that replies are based on threads and not really "to" other posters. | |||

| Thanks LT. I'll start posting on HH more then when the season gets closer. I just have to watch my posting time and the number of forums I choose to visit. The only good thing about the mlb.com boards (and not so much now) is the volume of posters there and the fact that you can get into some discussions there back and forth without having to wait too long. I've been getting in the habit of just allocating certain time for posting during the week, so it is more fulfilling having posters on at the same time so you don't have to wait three days for replies and your train of thought or interest in the subject fades. | |||

With no disrespect to whoever runs HH, if you want non stop action throughout the entire year in one central location, this is the place for you VictheGhost. We get a ton of traffic here in the off-season, more posts than anywhere else that I've seen, but once the season starts this place is rockin'. Welcome to the community VIC!

| Thanks Chuck. i think I can find time to post both here and on HH. Halo Haven was created by "Fozzybear" from the mlb.com board a few years ago and several of us used to post there. In fact, it is not much different from this forum, just less posters now. I think had the timing been different, it would have seen just as many posters but unfortunately wasn't given enough of a chance IMO. Anyway, it's all good. At least there are more choices now and the mlb.com board gets deader and deader every passing week. | |||

Ahhh ok, I always get Halo Haven.net guy mixed up with someone else. The guy over their is cool, he's always been a pro Angelswin.com guy and I've always respected him for that as their really shouldn't be competition wars like we've had with Halosheaven.com and with futureangels.com in the past. If time permitted me to post in more than one spot, his forum would be the one I'd frequent. Truth is, with running this website, combined with work, family, church etc. etc., I really don't have time to post elsewhere. I'm fortunate to have surrounded myself with Angels fans like yourself that have followed the team for ages, passionate for the team, all in a place that I like to call home .

| Yes, Matt is a VERY cool guy. Question for you....Is there a guide or something I can look at to show me what the different icons and things mean here? For example, when I look at the "Main Forum", I see threads with blue folders next to them, and some with yellow folders. The threads don't seem to be listed in order of time last posted, except in groups. I can't figure out how these groups are structured though and don't know what the folder icons mean (sub-folders or something?) | |||

It's about time you escaped the nuthatch. jey here is a pic tutorial for you so you can spice up your posts with something you've found graphicly on the net.http://www.angelswin.com/forum/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=137&posts=1&start=1 It shouldn't take you much time to get used the to the board and i look forward to seeing your posts.

| Hey blarg! Thanks for the welcome and the link to the tutorial. You know me....I'm not a big fan of graphics and believe simpler is always better. If I started a site, it would just have nothing but text and I guess be pretty boring...;) I still don't get some parts of the structure here, but am sure I will figure it out eventually. Some threads have little icons of a piece of paper folded at the corner and an arrow pointing to the thread. Some have yellow folders, some red or orange and are organized somehow into groups or something. The top four threads for example are seperated by the bottom threads and then the different groups sorted by date. Oh well, I'll get used to it. A lot of bells and whistles I will never use though being an old-time BBS'er (as well as a BS'er). :) | |||

Blue means the post has less than 20 posts in it, and the red/orange means it's a hot topic with 20 or more replies. That's basically it. The top threads are stickied to the top meaning they'll always be there, or at least for short time so that they do not drop off the 1st page. The posting options can be pretty basic if that is all you like, or you can use the rich text editor to achieve the bells and whistles within your post. You'll get it though within time, this forum has a short learning curve.

I'll keep poking around and trying things out. :) Often I cheat and just click on the New Threads tab at the top of the page to keep up on what's still active or I haven't seen. It's a quick way to update yourself as to what is new on all of the message boards on one page.
