Aside from Fuentes, and after losing DO, we don't have one, right? From what I've seen re: roster spots, it doesn't looks like there's one in the organization that's ready to step in and fill that role.

Any chance the Halos try to snag Will Ohman for cheap, or maybe offer Joe Beimel a minor league deal?

Or maybe like Darren O'Day entering the '08 spring camp as a non roster invitee, Andrew Taylor has a solid March and makes the team out of the bullpen.

O'Day only skipped one level Taylor would be skipping 3 i dont think thats likely, although i think we could see him at the end of the year

We've gone without one in the past.

I don't think Scioscia sees it as a priority, as long as the righties he has can get them out. Also, as you say, we do have Fuentes, who would be a great LOOGY.

True, although didn't both O'Day and Taylor pitch in college? But I could see Taylor being up here by some point in 2011.

Our BP vs. LH Hitters:

  1. Bulger: .196 BAA
  2. Fuentes: .239 BAA
  3. Shields: .209 BAA (in 2008)
  4. Palmer: (overall as a reliver): .222 BAA (Overall - both as a starter and reliver): .279 BAA

I think we will be okay without a left handed relief pitcher.

Looking at those stats we don't really need another LHP. I would rather save that last roster spot for Wilson. He is out of options and I think he would be a good back up position player. Of course he can only play first, but thats what Maicer is for

And Jepsen's was quite low from July on, as the cutter is the perfect out pitch vs. lefties.
